Grand Rue" project

A semi-detached house redesigned around customization and mix & match.

Location: Gland, Switzerland

Year: 2022

Surface : Semi-detached house

Type: Residential

Mission : Tailor-made layout of bedrooms and living room, optimization of space, integration of existing rooms to create a contemporary look.

Context

The customers had just acquired a semi-detached house in Gland. Their wish was to optimize the volumes by integrating a lot of made-to-measure furniture, while preserving their decorative universe of objects steeped in history.
They wanted an interior that retained the soul of their "old France" style, with its Persian rugs and heritage pieces, but gained in modernity and visual coherence.

Approach & design

The project was conceived as a mix & match between tradition and modernity:

  • Tailor-made storage units in bedrooms and living room to optimize space,
  • Preservation of highlights such as the Persian carpet and certain heirlooms,
  • A selection of designer metal tables with contemporary finishes to contrast with the antique elements,
  • Creation of a continuous aesthetic line, linking the various spaces and ensuring visual fluidity.

Ambiance & materials

The Grand Rue project highlights an authentic and elegant atmosphere:

  • Noble materials such as metal, combined with sober, made-to-measure storage units,
  • A timeless palette that lets existing decorative pieces breathe,
  • Personal objects integrated with care, to maintain a real sense of identity,
  • A well-balanced ambience, classic, refined and resolutely contemporary.

Results

The Grand Rue house embodies a made-to-measure interior, designed to last:

  • optimized space without compromising on style,
  • a successful balance between heritage and contemporary design,
  • a strong identity, faithful to its inhabitants and enhanced by a coherent approach.
