Café Relax" concept

Conceptual study of a café in a shopping mall.

Location: Geneva, Switzerland

Year: 2023

Type: Horeca concept

Mission: Imagine a visual and spatial repositioning of Café Relax, from logo to interior design.

Context

This conceptual project aimed to modernize the image of an existing café located in a shopping mall. The aim was to create a strong visual identity and attractive design to appeal to a younger clientele, while retaining regular customers.

Approach & design

  • Branding and visual identity: creation of a new logo and a contemporary graphic signature.
  • Dynamic palette: electric blue, light wood and warm browns to reinforce the visibility of the site and capture attention in the center's lively environment.
  • Neuro-design approach: use of stimulating colors, immersive lighting and visual contrasts to encourage curiosity and prolong the time spent in the café.
  • Horeca optimization: organization of customer flows, compliance with traffic standards and promotion of the product range right from the entrance.

Ambiance & materials

  • Contrasting hexagonal tiles, designed as a strong visual signal in a commercial environment.
  • Furniture in bold colors (brown/blue) for a welcoming yet striking ambience.
  • Suspended lighting and a touch of greenery to humanize a public space and break with the anonymity of a shopping mall.

Conceptual result

The Café Relax project demonstrates the power of Horeca design when conceived as a tool of attractiveness:

  • increase the visibility of a restaurant,
  • create a coherent identity universe,
  • using neuroscience applied to design to enhance the customer experience.
