In Gland, a small commune nestled between lake and mountains, oak trees reign supreme. Their majesty and symbolism are now at the heart of an unprecedented architectural project: the transformation of the Raiffeisen branch.
Renamed La Banque des Chênes, this space reflects the soul of the region and celebrates its natural heritage.
History in design
The choice of oak is not an insignificant one. A symbol of strength and durability, the tree is also the origin of the commune's name. A dense forest, a living ecosystem, a lasting legacy: these were the elements that guided me in my design.
Walls and ceilings are adorned with carved wood, evoking a walk in the woods.
Acoustic elements in oak leaf and acorn-shaped suspension fixtures are discreet but poetic nods to the surrounding natural environment.
And because each place tells its own story, two salons have been created:
The Salon Serine, inspired by the river of the same name, with its soothing bluish tones, is an ode to fluidity and tranquility.
The Salon Toblerone, with its geometric lines and more structured hues, pays homage to the famous World War II fortifications, a witness to local history.
A palette that speaks to the emotions
Beyond aesthetics, the colors chosen play a fundamental role in the customer experience.
Forest green invites serenity, an ideal choice to soothe visitors during often emotionally-charged moments.
Water blue, inspired by the Serine river, evokes confidence and transparency.
Sunshine yellow adds a touch of optimism and dynamism.
Finally, a subtle but present hint of red recalls the Raiffeisen logo while infusing a warm energy.
These shades are not just a decorative choice: they influence atmosphere and behavior, transforming a simple visit into a reassuring, harmonious experience.
Aesthetics and functionality: the perfect alliance
In a bank, design cannot afford to be purely contemplative.
Materials have to meet technical constraints and respond to very specific needs.
This is why oak wood, beyond its warm appearance, is used for its acoustic and durable properties.
Ceilings made from recycled PET help to reduce noise pollution, while at the same time making the project eco-responsible.
The role of an interior designer
As an interior designer, my mission is to develop a concept and choose the right materials to combine aesthetics and functionality.
Like all projects, La Banque des Chênes will evolve in line with technical constraints, but the initial vision will remain true to its inspirations: nature, history and emotion.
