The most beautiful terraces are those that blend harmoniously with their surroundings.
Choose natural materials
At higher altitudes, we prefer natural, regional stones such as sandstone, which brings a real touch of nature and sunshine with its beige color, as well as local woods such as oak or fir for a rustic, authentic feel.
Add a touch of greenery and color
We're lucky enough to be able to grow beautiful plants and flowers in summer that will survive the winter. We can opt for primroses and tulips, for example, as they bring color and a healthy atmosphere, or for aromatic plants such as rosemary, basil and mint, which repel mosquitoes and are just as useful for the chef as they are for the bartender's mojitos.
Tip: Use oak barrels as planters or (why not?) to store your pellets!
Add a touch of comfort
For a decorative touch, and for the comfort of your guests looking for a cocooning spot on cool summer evenings, add some lovely extra-fine merino wool plaids - customized by Zurich designer Salomé Rinderknecht - for those chilly shoulders, and pretty cushions for seating comfort. A few small lanterns with candles will also bring light to each of your tables.
In Switzerland, a number of companies can help you heat your terrace and create an atmosphere where everyone can enjoy meeting and sharing.
